The Platform Gallery
Public Art Exhibitions
For the occasion of Vancouver's 125th birthday, we created an opportunity for Vancouver's design community to celebrate our city. Our goal was to find space for graphic designer's to exhibit work in spaces usually reserved for public art. Two exhibitions were organized around civic themes (By Any Other Name: alternate names for Vancouver; Intersections: prominent locations throughout Vancouver). Each exhibition, six designers were invited to contribute a poster in response to the theme. The exhibitions were held in Vancouver's Waterfront Station Canada Line Platform and had over a million impressions during their six month lifespan.
Developed in partnership with the Canada Line Public Art Program and Emily Carr Alumni Association. Art direction and design in partnership with Grace Partridge. All posters are the unique contributions of individual designers.
